For Physicians
UniPath’s Commitment to Service
As the largest local partnership of pathologists in Colorado, UniPath was built to provide the highest levels of diagnostic services in anatomic pathology available. With 25 pathologists spanning a wide variety of subspecialties (in Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology, Immunopathology, Surgical Pathology, Pediatric Pathology, and Medical Microbiology) owning the company and making decisions, UniPath is uniquely able to efficiently adjust to the evolving needs of our clients. We consider ourselves partners with our referring physicians in serving the true clients: patients and their families. Our doctors are easily accessible to interact with you, staffing eight area hospitals and operating our central laboratory located in southeast Denver. Additionally, we have a highly experienced, centralized administration running the day-to-day business operations, which allows our physicians to concentrate on what they do best. It is this local flavor and diversity of expertise that sets us apart.
UniPath employs the latest diagnostic technologies, and constantly stays apprised of useful innovations in the world of anatomic pathology. Cytopathology services include utilization of ThinPrep ®, and soon we will also offer the SurePath™ liquid-based Pap test, giving clinicians a choice. Tests for HPV (DNA typing), chlamydia, gonnorhea, and herpes simplex 1 and 2 are available off the vial. We provide diagnostic correlation of all colposcopic biopsies and Pap tests. Furthermore, our menu of esoteric testing technologies includes: Her2 FISH, UroVysion FISH, Flow Cytometry, HemeFISH, and other immunohistochemistry applications, all with a broad range of special stains to cover all possible disease diagnoses.
Tying all of this diagnostic capability together are our client services, tailored to the needs of each practice. We provide daily or on-call courier pickup and report delivery, automatic report faxing, web-based reporting (see also the article included herein about our upcoming offering of online ordering), month-end catalog reports, and automatic supply reorders. Our reports feature photomicrographs (when applicable), prostate mapping, and colored borders for easy recognition in charts. Furthermore, we contract with a national pathology-specific billing company, and provide support for any billing issues or problems. We accept all insurances, either directly or through subcontracting agreements, resulting in our ability to diagnose any specimens you have.
UniPath’s mission is to serve you and your patients. We focus on instilling a pervasive cultural belief at all levels of our organization that each specimen sent to us is more than just a case; it is a patient that needs your care and ours. Through continuous improvement and a persistent eye on the future, we will work with you to take health care to the next level.
