Non-Gynecologic Cytology

UniPath offers a full range of non-gynecologic cytology services. Four of UniPath’s twenty-six physicians are board-certified in the specialty area of Cytopathology. We provide non-gynecologic cytology on-site in several hospitals, as well as at our main lab.

We routinely process non-gynecologic cytology specimens that include:

• Urines
• Thyroid FNA’s (Fine Needle Aspiration biopsy)
• Breast FNA’s, cyst fluids, and discharges
• Skin lesion scrapings
• Bronchial washings
• Bronchial brushings
• Peritoneal fluids
• Pleural fluids
• Joint fluids
• Cerebrospinal fluids
• FNA’s from other body sites including liver, lung, lymph nodes, and soft tissue masses

FNA Clinic

Our main lab includes an FNA Clinic where we can perform Fine Needle Aspiration biopsies in a comfortable, quiet setting. Any FNA biopsly site that does not require radiological guidance and can be done in an outpatient facility can be done in our clinic.

These sites include:

• Breast
• Thyroid
• Palpable Lymph nodes
• Palpable soft tissue masses
• Cyst drainage
