Access to local reference pathology can provide your referring physicians with improved turn around time for esoteric anatomic pathology special testing. In addition, keeping a specimen within the state improves the integrity of the result. UniPath provides the ability to have a variety of specialized testing done regionally. In addition to the testing detailed below, UniPath provides access to a large library of antibodies specific to a multitude of diseases. Immunohistochemical stains are performed on a adaily basis, and diagnostic results are available within 24 to 48 hours from receipt of the specimen. Access to most results is possible via the web.

Colon Carcinomas

Performed on invasive colon carcinomas that are formalin fixed/paraffin embedded tissue with results available in 24 to 48 hours.

Performed on urine fixed in CytoLyt with testing performed on Monday/Wednesday and interpreted on Tuesday/Thursday.

Hematopathology/Oncology

Flow Cytometry
Comprehensive immunophenotypic analysis is available for hematopoietic neoplasms.

Flow Cytometry is performed on fresh bone marrow aspirate, and peripheral blood submitted in sodium heparin. Lymph nodes, bone cores and other solid tissues for flow Cytometry should be submitted in RPMI.

HemeFISH (Interphase cytogenetic)
A wide variety of probes specific for or associated with, barious lukemia's, lymphomas and multiple myeloma are available. These may be ordered as individual tests. Panels are also available for AML, ALL, CLL, multiple myeloma and MDS.
